Ms. Kwon Ji-young, Senior Education Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan visits The Japan Association of National Universities (October 27, 2026)
On October 27, 2026, Ms. Kwon Ji-young, Senior Education Counselor, and Ms. Kim Seon-hee, Senior Administrative Officer, both of Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan, visited the Japan Association of National Universities (JANU) and engaged in an exchange of views with Ms. Kayoko Hayashi, Senior Managing Director. This marks the second visit by a Senior Education Counsellor from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan since 2020.
During the meeting, both sides shared insights on initiatives to revitalize regional universities in response to shared challenges, such as demographic decline and the concentration of students in capital regions. They also discussed promoting joint research, utilizing portals such as “Study in Korea,” advancing digital transformation (DX) in education, and attracting highly skilled talent.
JANU will continue to deepen higher education exchanges between Japan and Korea.
