First Secretary of Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan visits the Japan Association of National Universities (December 1)

On December 1, 2020, Mr. Yang HoSeok, First Secretary (Education) of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan, who had been appointed to his post in September 2020, visited the Japan Association of National Universities (JANU), together with Ms. Cho Eunae, Administrative & Technical Staff (Education).

Following the greeting by Mr. Yang, JANU representatives explained the outline of the association and the exchange of students and researchers between Japan and South Korea. Subsequently, both parties exchanged opinions on higher education, for example, the impact of COVID-19 on universities, the challenges to increase the doctoral program enrollment rate, and university reforms, examining the current situation and initiatives being taken in both countries.

This is the first time that officials of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea have visited JANU. JANU will work on promoting exchanges between the two countries.
