Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)
The Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) is used to evaluate whether international students who wish to study at the undergraduate level at universities or other such higher educational institutions in Japan possess the Japanese language skills and the basic academic abilities needed to study at those institutions. EJU is conducted twice a year (June and November) in Japan and other countries and regions by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).
EJU is composed of four subject tests: Japanese as a Foreign Language, Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), Japan and the World, and Mathematics. Examinees need to make their selections in accordance with the requirements of the university that they wish to enter. Examinees can select the test language either from Japanese or English when they apply for the Examination. (However, the test language for Japanese as a Foreign Language is restricted to Japanese language only.)

The Japan Association of National Universities (JANU) cooperates on the administration of EJU by nominating some members to the expert committee, etc.
